This late Georgian to early Victorian treasure is an absolutely wonderful woven-hair mourning brooch or lace pin. The braided hair is protected under glass and framed by ten lovely coral cabochons; a stone worn as a protection amulet during the 19th century. Set in 10 karat yellow gold, it has a closed back, a technique widely used during the Georgian Era. A very collectable piece, as Mediterranean coral has become more scarce, and in perfect condition, with the intricately woven hair intact under the glass. A must-have for the serious antique jewelry collector!
