The Bourbon Restoration was the period of French history during which the House of Bourbon returned to power after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1814. With political change, fashions also evolved. the French Restoration style was predominantly Neoclassicism, but also showed the beginnings of Romanticism in music, literature and decorative arts.

This stunning French pendant is crafted in pomponne, the equivalent of Pinchbeck, or gold over another metal, most often silver. Decorated with a beautiful pastoral scene depicting a romantic couple in a field, it is the epitome of romance! Accented with natural seed pearls and a border of the signature French black and white 'polka dots', it is the perfect adornment for any antique jewelry collector.
