The word "Bohemian" comes from the region of Bohemia, a kingdom which later became Czechoslovakia. Deep red garnet gemstones were produced there along with a style of using them in jewelry that became popular in the Victorian Era, and throughout the turn of the century. They were often set into base metals or lower karat gold settings to be more accessible to the Middle Class.
Beautiful, deep red glittering garnets adorn this amazing necklace. Set in garnet gold, which is a low karat gold washed metal, it has an abundance of floral motifs, from the chain to the large pendant. A wonderful piece that will make you want to dress up and show off your artistic side!
