Antique Austro-Hungarian Silver, Emerald, Ruby & Pearl Pendant

Austria-Hungary was a constitutional monarchy that was created in 1867 and was dissolved in 1918.  During this short period of time, many opulent, dramatic pieces of jewelry were produced. Close in proximity to Germany and Italy, Renaissance Revival style was a significant influence. Gothic, Biblical and Mythical themes were prevalent, as was the use of closely clustered jewels, both genuine and paste.

Crafted in silver with a gold washed back, this wonderful pendant has the greenest of green emeralds, the pinkest of pink rubies, and the creamiest natural pearls ever! All set geometrically in a deeply patinaed silver. She even has a dangling emerald at the base! We are loving how this shows a more colorful side of Victorian fashion (think Bridgerton vibes) and how it translates to modern aesthetics as well. Perfect over a black turtleneck, inside a crisp white collar, or brazenly displayed on your décolleté when you wear your most daring strapless dress!
