The word “Bohemian” derives from the region of Bohemia, a kingdom which later became Czechoslovakia. Among other flourishing trades, this region produced gorgeous, deep red garnet gemstones and a style of jewelry that quickly became popular in the late Victorian Era and through the turn of the century. Additionally, garnet is the birthstone for January and the stone that celebrates the 2nd anniversary of marriage.
The upper classes of the Victorian Era loved to give expensive little trinkets to friends and family, and the clover was a favorite gift for anyone embarking on a new endeavor, traveling, or entering a rite of passage. Superstitions were upheld, and four leaf clovers were considered to be very good luck, a belief that stands today!
Converted from an antique stickpin, this ring has a little Bohemian garnet clover with a tiny seed pearl on the stem. Adorable and pretty, it will be sure to bring you luck when you wear it!
