A beautifully carved carnelian intaglio cameo depicting a goddess from ancient Greek mythology. With leaves in her hair, it is possible that she is Demeter, the goddess of agriculture. Finely detailed with a straight aquiline nose, robust chin, and elaborate coif, she is set in rich 14 karat yellow gold with a beautiful patina and stately detailing on the shoulders. This ring style was usually produced during the Victorian Era for a gentleman, and we like to imagine that a wealthy and very handsome lord wore this version of Demeter as a talisman for thriving crops on his vast estate in the country! Enjoyed in this era by both sexes, we encourage all goddesses to try her on!
