An aigrette is a hair ornament, so named for the French word which means 'egret' in English. The long white plumes of the egret were used to adorn women's hair and hats during the Victorian Era. Later, the aigrette had evolved into a delicate hair ornament, often encrusted with jewels. This amazing aigrette is set in 12 carat yellow gold, with glittering deep red garnets forming a beautiful star flower on its stem, with a bow at the base. Wearing this would create a shimmer around ones head as the candle light, and later the gas lights would reflect on it. A dramatic and very special piece that will impress all of your hangers on, as well as any romantic conquest you may have in your line up!
