The wearing of charms was most likely begun as a form of amulet or talisman to ward off evil spirits or bad luck. During the pre-historic period, jewelry charms would be made from shell, animal bones and clay. Later, charms were made out of precious metals and gems, rocks and wood.

Charm bracelets were made popular by Queen Victoria. She usually wore one, and gave many as gifts to her relatives and friends. Although it waned somewhat after the Victorian Era, the trend never really went out of style, and during the 1940s found a resurgence as people began to travel after the war, seeking small souvenirs and love tokens to bring back home.

This wonderful silver charm bracelet is just full of hearts! Eleven, to be exact, and with room for more if you should so desire. Two have little turquoise stones (one with a working locket!) and one has guilloche enameling with a pink rose. All of them have some sort of embellishment in the design, and are as interesting and as darling as they can be! Some may be antiques, and some vintage, as this is a piece that has evolved from years of collecting the sweet charms. A true treasure, sure to bring a smile every time you wear it!
