The era we now know as “Art Deco” received its moniker from the Exposition International des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, which was largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Emphasis was placed on the association of art and modern industry. The style was also utilized in architecture, where rectangular blocky forms were often arranged in a geometric fashion, then broken up by curved ornamental elements. But always the aim was a monolithic appearance with applied decorative motifs. It was especially successful in apartment buildings and skyscrapers.

A glittering diamond sits right in the middle of a stylized platinum spider's web, which is set on a 14 karat yellow gold shank with feathered designs on the shoulders. A great example of the Art Deco sensibility and its enduring style, it will have everyone coming a little closer when you wear it!
