The word "Bohemian" comes from the region of Bohemia, a kingdom which later became Czechoslovakia. Deep red garnet gemstones were produced there along with a style of using them in jewelry that became popular in the Victorian Era, and throughout the turn of the century. They were often set into base metals or lower karat gold settings to be more accessible to the Middle Class.

Today, this style is wildly popular and has been re-coined Boho-Chic. We love to know that modern fashionistas are embracing the jewels of the past, and re-purposing them to help make new stories!

Set in the pave' technique, with little or no metal showing from the background, this gorgeous pair of hoop earrings are aa wonderful example of Bohemian garnet jewelry during the period. A perfect pairing with absolutely anything you own, you'll feel like a true turn of the century Bohemian wearing these!
