The Star of David, Magen David, or "Shield of David" is a generally recognized symbol of Judaism and the Jewish people as a whole. The shape of a hexagram has been used for thousands of years in writings of magical arts. The symbol was adopted by the Jewish people to decorate the Zion flag in 1897,  and became an official emblem during World War I, when Jewish soldiers' graves were decorated with the Star of David.

This eye-catching locket, crafted of 12 karat yellow gold, has been decorated with a smooth, bright cerulean blue enamel inset with tiny seed pearls and orange coral cabochons to form the Star of David motif. Inside, we find an antique photograph of a child, probably a boy, wearing a tasseled cap. The image was carefully cut out and placed on a blue background, echoing the outer decoration of the locket. A poignant little historic treasure, ready for you to ensure its safekeeping for the next generation!
