Art Nouveau is an ornamental style of art that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States. Art Nouveau is characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic line and was employed most often in architecture, interior design, jewelry, and glass design. It was a deliberate attempt to create a new style, free of the style that dominated much of 19th-century art and design.
This ring is a great example of the genre, showing that beauty, style, and craftspersonship can all come together. It depicts the heads of two beautiful women with diamonds in their hair and expressions of rapture on their faces. Originally a cuff link, we have had it converted into a ring using a replica of an antique shank of the same period.
