The Western world began its love affair with Egypt with Napoleon I’s expedition in 1798. Along with his armies, he brought along scientists and artists who delved into the ancient Pharaohs and the exotic history of the land.

The affinity for the Egyptian aesthetic continued into the next century, and hit another peak in 1921, with the discovery of King Tut’s tomb.

The Tiger's Eye stone is believed to be associated with courage and confidence, which come from understanding your true desires. It is said to help you shift your perspective so you can see the way forward, even in times of fear. It is also thought to be a stone of protection for women.

Tiger's Eye stones are so fascinating, with their bands of solid dark brown running through the paler hues which reflect the light with the effect known as chatoyance! Can you tell that we love Tiger's Eye?

This beautiful Bas-Relief cameo was made using a sculptural technique where the sculpted elements remain attached to a solid background of the same material. The term "relief" is from the Latin verb "relevo" (to raise). To a create a sculpture in relief is to give the impression that the sculpted material has been raised above the background plane.  The ring face has a beautiful woman with a headdress or wig of an Egyptian female. Is she a noblewoman or a goddess? Her mystery remains in the stone.

As with many of our jewels, we consider this ring to be unisex.
