The word “Bohemian” derives from the region of Bohemia, a kingdom which later became Czechoslovakia. Among other flourishing trades, this region produced gorgeous, deep red garnet gemstones and a style of jewelry that quickly became popular in the late Victorian Era and through the turn of the century.
This gorgeous bracelet has four strands of garnet beads, consisting of 107 garnets, all faceted. The center gem on the clasp is a rose cut garnet, making the total carat weight a whopping 124ctw! Lushly set in 18 karat yellow gold, it drapes over the arm or wrist with an elegant and decadent feel. Victorian women wore as many as seven or eight bracelets at once, placing them from the wrist to the elbow, and this would have looked amazing, daring and exotic at the time. A fabulous piece that transitions from day to night with spectacular ease!
