A very charming and enduring trend from the Victorian Era was the incorporation of the Language of Flowers, wherein every blossom and leaf imaginable held secret meaning. It was so commonly practiced that floral messages were incorporated into jewelry, with our brooch serving as such an example.

Crafted in gold and silver, this striking brooch features a tiny bouquet of flowers with two hearts in enamel at its center.  Bordered with a cobalt blue enamel pattern and haloed with paste diamonds, it's a great starter piece for budding antique jewelry collectors and true romantics alike!

Flower symbolism identified:

Tulip: Declaration of love

Pansy: Think of me

Forget Me Not: Don't forget me

Blue Star Amsonia: Steadfastness

Two Hearts Aflame: Burning with passion

Circa early 19th century
