A charming and enduring trend from the Victorian Era was the custom of the Language of Flowers, wherein every blossom and leaf imaginable held secret meaning. It was so commonly practiced that floral messages were incorporated into jewelry. The secret messages and sentiments didn't stop at flowers! All sorts of little symbols held deep meaning for the romantic Victorians, with our brooch being what is referred to as 'Sweetheart Jewelry". Most of the pieces in this style were made in England, and the brooches were given to young ladies from their sweethearts.

Our brooch, crafted in Sterling silver with rose gold on top has a heart, two horseshoes and Forget Me Not flowers. It has a locket back, the perfect little place to store your beloved's lock of hair. A wonderful little keepsake from a bygone era, and priced for even the newest of antique jewelry collectors!@
