It is believed in Chinese tradition that Green Jade symbolized the five virtues of humanity: courage, modesty, justice, compassion, and wisdom. Mainly considered a symbol of serenity, tranquility, and purity, it is purported to bring in good luck, friendship, peace, and harmony as well.  For millennia, the Chinese have regarded jade as the most precious of all earthly objects. In the 18th century, with the new availability of jadeite, green became the most coveted color of all, and that is still the case.

This vibrant jade ring is a real treasure, and we have named it just that, 'Bao'! Intricately carved with a bird and flower motif, it was most likely carved in China, then set in America around the early 1900s. A wonderful piece that comes from Kathy's personal collection, it has a low profile that makes day to day wear a breeze!
