The main use of the watch chain was to simply ensure the security of the pocket watch. The pocket watch emerged in the 17th Century and the style grew in popularity when Charles II popularized the waistcoat in 1675.
This 14 karat white gold watch chain has a fancy link, and a simple dog clip to secure to one's pocket watch. The simpler style, as well as the linear decoration is true to the Art Deco aesthetic. Today, watch chains are not reserved for their original use. We love to link them together to create a fantastically unique necklace!
