A dik-dik is a small antelope found in the bushlands of eastern and southern Africa. Victorians traveling to Africa, either on Safari or while serving in the military would collect the horns as souvenirs. After returning to England, they would have them made into jewelry. These pieces were worn as good luck charms.
Made from the horn of a dik-dik, this pendant has been capped at each end with 9 karat yellow gold. A bale allows you to hang it on a chain or ribbon. Interesting and eclectic, it's something you'd find in a curiosity shop and will look great as part of your 'neck mess'!
