This lovely emerald and amethyst & diamond ring is a wonderful accessory to go from day to night. The flower-like arrangement of the stones provides a unique and refreshing look for daytime, while at night you could almost imagine: the stones are like brilliant fireworks across the sky! The fresh color combination could be worn to work or out to lunch, and the attractively cut emeralds and amethysts add just the right amount of sparkle for evening. These stones are proudly displayed on a wonderful band of 14k gold that separates the stones from each other, allowing the beholder to see this ring blossom!
Additional Note: While this ring is not of the period, the colors of the stones do reflect the colors used as a secret code by the Suffragettes of Great Briton while fighting for the women's right to Vote in 1920.
It was Mrs. Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence, business manager of the WSPU and editor of Votes For Women, who created the brand identity that was so successful in gaining members and publicity. The three colors she chose: purple for loyalty and dignity, white for purity and green for hope, were worn “as a duty and a privilege” and were applied to all ranges of fashion.
So this ring can be worn for its sheer beauty, or with a nod to the Suffragette movement which is still active today as in the Me Too movement for women's right to dignity and equal rights.
