Moss agate is not banded, and therefore not strictly an agate , although still referred to as such. It's a mineral of the quartz family. It is clear to milky white, with dendritic inclusions of manganese or iron that has grown into patterns similar to moss or lichen. The Ancients believed it to aid in agricultural success, burying it in the soil where crops were planted and using as an amulet when journeying across land.
This evenly speckled moss agate stone is set in 10 karat yellow gold with streamlined shoulders reminiscent of the Art Deco era. Originally intended for a man to wear, it is considered unisex these days, and is fitting for either sex. Put it on your finger, and let the lichen-like mossy agate stone transport you into the woods!
