I never tire of coral. It has such a uniquely gratifying color that tends to sooth and calm me. Additionally, its semi-matte surface is so gratifying to touch. Perhaps that's because it is carbon based like us. Created from the skeletons of tiny sea creatures packed together in half-living and half-dead branching architectural wonders of the underwater world, they have been greatly treasured by bead-makers and artisans for millennia. Yet, unfortunately, it is a true shame that many precious and age-old coral reefs are rapidly disappearing due to pollution, climate change and over harvesting by humans. These corals that exist on antique and vintage rings are no longer available to commercial trade. And this ring has a top quality stone that should be treasured and valued greatly.
