A wonderful Georgian Giardinetti (ornamental floral) element was converted to a ring sometime in the past. The top is silver and gold set with diamonds and precious rubies and emeralds. All of the stones are foiled with closed backs as was the jewelers' custom in the period. This little floral bouquet from the past will bring a bit of historical delight to all who see it.
- Two emeralds
- two rubies
- two rose-cut diamonds
- silver face/tabletop
- 15k yellow gold band and gold bezels on the emerald, the rubies and some of the leaves
Measurements: US ring size of 8.0 (resizable). The silver tabletop has approximate dimensions of 20mm x 16mm.
Condition: Overall good. The stones are all set sturdily and deep within the bezel settings; the emeralds and rubies have good colors, while the diamonds glitter brightly when exposed to light. There is some evidence of a previous resize.
The yellow gold is bright and shiny, with skilled craftsmanship, with an overall nice weight, and a good 15k quality. Incision details and model work make for a textured, 3-dimensional presentation. The attachment points between the old Georgian tabletop and the newer gold band are well-done. Please inspect the photos closely. Overall, a unique historical jewel.
