This outstanding antique ring of unknown origin is certainly impressive on so many levels. The primary impact is it's lovely pear shaped 10 carat faceted amethyst framed by a fine bezel setting in18K gold. Next are 22 round faceted emeralds totaling .7 cttw and all suspended on short, uniform tubular mounts surrounding the amethyst, also in 18K gold. The final outside perimeter of the teardrop is a halo of 29 small rose-cut accent diamonds set atop graduated silver tubular mounts.
The flat band shank in 18K gold is split in three at the shoulders and spreads to securely hold the body of the mount. The interplay between the violet of the amethyst and the green of the emeralds is electric. While the flashing pinpoints of the rose-cuts highlight the outer shape in tiny dancing sparkles!
Overall, the effect is simply stupendous and befitting a larger, elegant hand exuding character and class!
If only this jewel could tell us her story, we would surely be her captive audience.
